Concert Memories 1
So one time I got to see Foxy Shazam in concert. It was a life changing experience to say the least! I was also super happy because I got to meet all of them too! And they signed my cd :) Sky gave me a hug and after chatting with Alex a bit he says, “Aw you’re so sweet!”

Crap.
I just thought about an embarrassing moment when I tried to use the word “ratchet” in class.
It gives me a pain in my gut.
Some students looked at me awkwardly.
My teacher asked me what it meant.
I couldn’t give a real answer so other students told her.

This is a very simple but and very important concept. (See what I did there?) These two phrases would be heard very differently:
“I love you but I need you to respect my boundaries.”
“I love you and I need you to respect my boundaries.”
The word ‘but’ negates whatever came before it, while the word ‘and’ signifies that whatever comes next is a logical extension of the thought.
